Teresa Martinez, is an enrolled member of the Pauma Band of Luiseņo Indians and a passionate advocate for Native leadership, mentorship, and community empowerment. Guided by the values of her tribal heritage, she is committed to supporting opportunities that strengthen Native communities, elevate women's voices, and inspire future generations of leaders.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Teresa has spent more than 25 years serving tribal communities through leadership roles in tribal gaming, governance, and organizational development. Her career has been dedicated to advancing tribal sovereignty, fostering strong leadership, and supporting the long-term success of tribal enterprises and communities.
As a member of the Board of Directors, Teresa is excited to connect with Native women from across Indian Country, learning from their experiences and celebrating the diverse perspectives, cultures, and strengths they bring to their communities. As an Ambassador for Women in Tribal Gaming, she is passionate about encouraging women to pursue leadership opportunities, build meaningful professional networks, and support one another's growth. She believes that some of the most powerful lessons come from the relationships we build, the stories we share, and the wisdom passed from one generation to the next.
When she is not working, Teresa enjoys spending time with family and friends, participating in local 5K races, and relaxing with a good book. She values lifelong learning, personal growth, and the meaningful connections that strengthen communities.
